Five points to the person who knows where the title comes from.
Anyway, so two days ago was my official one month mark here in Sweden. October's coming around the corner and I can feel it in the air, especially in the morning when the sunlight is weak and the ground is still dew wet.
My friends don't to me in as much in english. It's okay though, I almost always understand them, even If I can't respond to what they say. I know what I want to say, but I lack the vocabulary to fill in my sentences with, time to start studying I suppose.
School is going well, difficult with the language barrier, but I've gotten to the point where I understand nearly everything the teacher writes down, however I find myself straining to understand what they lecture about. My head almost always hurts at the end of the day and it's so strange how after hearing and trying to process a different language that hearing english actually makes my headache go away.
Imagine that.
But I'm limiting myself with english, I rarely listen to english music now and save most of my speaking/writing for this blog or helping the others in English class. I find that it makes the transition from english to swedish much easier on my head.
Helen has moved in to the house with little Lukas. That makes eight people living here now, it's a loud and rowdy life, but I'm really loving it.
Most of you know I am from a single parent home. It's just me and my mom, and sometimes I feel rather overwhelmed by everyone and everything, but in a good way. I've always wanted to have a big family so I guess i'm in training.
Two days ago I took a trip into the city by myself, I found it easy to find my way around and with the efficient train and bus system easy to get home. You never get stuck without transportation here, theres always a bus or train within twenty minutes of each other.
I really like Örebro, it's the eigth largest city in Sweden and has that token 'European feel' that really makes it exciting to visit. There's a rather large castle in the middle of the city and it really is quite beautiful.
What else can I tell you about what's been going on......
Mmmm, I signed up for a trip to Göteborg (Gothenburg for you Americans) bought my ticket a week ago and on Oct 11 will be heading by train to the south of Sweden all by my lonesome, i'm really excited.
So my host sister just walked into the room with a stuffed polar bear on a leash.
I think it's time for me to sign off.
By the way for Joseph and everyone else wondering, my address is....
Rosenvägen 1
6923 Kumla
Sweden
And if I don't have your address I'd really like too.
